Each year, no more than 5% of the lawyers in each state are selected by Super Lawyers. “Rising Stars” recognizes the top up-and-coming attorneys in the state who are 40 or younger, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. Robert D. Eckard – Business Litigation. Mr. Eckard founded this litigation firm in 2000 after leaving the State Attorney’s Office, 6th Judicial Circuit, Pinellas County, Florida. He specializes in white-collar criminal investigations and defense, all areas of commercial/business litigation, professional licensing and administrative proceedings for physicians, health-care professionals, attorneys, accountants, securities dealers & brokers, and other professionals. Mr. Eckard is Board Certified in Business Litigation by the Florida Bar (less than 300 lawyers in the State of Florida are Board Certified in Business Litigation).
Drew K. Patterson – Business Litigation (“Rising Stars”). Mr. Patterson focuses his practice on complex business & commercial litigation. He represents clients in various matters involving business torts, fraud, shareholder disputes and derivative actions, contract disputes, non-competes, securities, employer defense, and general commercial litigation in both state and federal court. In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Patterson also serves as outside general counsel to his institutional clients, including a prepaid card programming company, where he deals with financial technology (FinTech), consumer, and regulatory compliance issues.
